Ardith Maureen
Wheeler
September 17, 1932 – September 2, 2022
Ardith Maureen Wheeler went to be with our Lord on September 2, 2022, at her home in Cushing, OK, surrounded by her family. She was 89 years old, just shy of her 90 th birthday. Her care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Euchee Valley Memorial Park. Tim Young, a long-time family friend, will officiate the service.
Maureen was born in Rochester, Minnesota, to Thomas and Altha (Barker) Parker on September 17, 1932. She grew up in Bristow and graduated Bristow High School. She married Ernest Wheeler on April 11, 1953, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. From this union, their daughter Teauna and son Thomas were born. They were married 44 years until his death in 1997.
Maureen worked for the Bristow school system until her children graduated, so that she could be active in all their activities. After they were in college, she went to work for the Department of Human Services as a case worker and enjoyed the interaction she had with her clients. After retirement, she moved to Cushing, OK, with her husband.
Maureen was most proud of her family; she loved them dearly and there was absolutely nothing she wouldn't do for them. Her grandchildren were her delight, but the great-grandchildren were extra special. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, and sewing.
Maureen is survived by her daughter Teauna Chestnut and husband Michael of Cushing, her son Thomas Wheeler and wife Kim of Las Vegas; her grandchildren, Cassie Burns and husband Rickey of Cushing, Melissa Teston and husband Christopher of Cushing, Ashley Primm and husband Grant of Bartlesville as well as four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Bella Burns, Graham Primm, and Hunter Teston.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ernest.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks and love to her very special friends Delicia Hines and Tina Basquez.
