Barbara Louise Kelley, age 75 of Cushing, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Cushing Christian Church in Cushing. Pastor Warren Pratt Jr. will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, OK. Immediately following the graveside service the family will be gathering for dinner at the Roam Chief Building 810 Morris Road in Pawnee. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.
Barbara was born on January 30, 1938 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to the late Amos Alvin and Elsie Lee (Gray) McKinney. She grew up and attended school in Pawnee and Meramec. Barbara married Corbett Clifford Kelley on May 19, 1957 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to this union Jeannie, Corbett and LaWanda were born. They lived in the Yale/ Cushing area. She had attended the Cushing Christian Church for a few years, then became a member of the First Indian Baptist Church, where she was known as the church mother. Barbara worked at the Yale Nursing Home as a cook for a short time, mainly raised her children and many other children throughout her life. She was a mother to many, taking them in as if they were her own. Barbara was a very talented baker, she made her children's wedding cakes and for many friends and family. She also made birthday cakes and cakes for all occasions. Barbara loved spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her son Corbett Kelley Jr. and wife Kay of Sapulpa, daughters Jeannie Sisson and husband Rick of Bartlesville, LaWanda Duckworth of Cushing, sisters-in-laws Carmen McKinney of Cushing, Babe Morris of Yale, Elizabeth McKinney of Yale, grandchildren, Sammual Kelley and wife Sophia, Adam Kelley and wife Kristen and, Christina Lilly and husband Justin, Angie Deramo and husband Danny, Marisa Duckworth, great grandchildren Ryker Lilly, Makaylie Wheeler and Asheliegh Wheeler and numerous other children and grandchildren she calls her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Shy Moore, Eddie Reece, Robert McKinney, and Hershel McKinney, sisters Vena Padgett, Tinnie Moore, and Joyce McKinney.
