Bert Wikel a longtime Yale resident, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at his home at the age of 69.  Memorial service will be held on 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Yale.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Bert was born on September 28, 1949 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to the late Wesley George and Naomi A. (Blackwell) Wikel.  He grew up and attended school in the Quay.  He married the love of his life Wanda Glasby on September 3, 1971 in Yale, Ok., to this union, Michelle, Robert, Nicholas and Daniel were born.  They made their home on family land where he's lived his whole life.  He was a carpenter and also worked for Atwood's for 18 years.  He loved his family, every year they spent their family vacations near the Illinois River in Gore, Ok., many memories were made during those vacations.  Bert was satisfied with staying at home with his children and grandchildren, just enjoying them.  Bert was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Yale.  He also had racing pigeons and often took them to Brownsville, Tx and Atoka to see how quick they could get home.   Bert enjoyed working on Motorcycles and ATV's.  He loved spending time with his sons and grandchildren.

Bert is survived by his loving wife Wanda of the home, sons Robert Wikel of Yale and girlfriend Priscilla Jett, Nicholas Wikel and wife Jaree of Yale, Daniel Wikel and wife Sierra of Stillwater, OK., sisters Phyllis Glasby and husband George of Yale, Nancy Moore and husband Charlie of Yale, Janie Lichtenburger of Yale, Karen Allen of Ponca City, grandchildren Harper, Matthew and Amelia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle Wikel, sister Linda Wikel, brothers Cecil Wikel and Dale Wikel,
