Obituary

Bessie Leota (Dilley) Moebius passed from this life on December 1, 2023, in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  Her care has been entrusted with Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Bessie was born on August 28, 1937, to parents Auto and Hazel (Simmons) Dilley in Quay, Oklahoma.  She was one of five children to their union.  She attended grade school at Lone Elm and went on to the single room schoolhouse in Quay to finish her schooling.  Even at a young age, Bessie was very intelligent, skipping two grades and graduating at 16 years old.

Bessie met her husband of more than 60 years, Henry Moebius, and they were married on her 22nd birthday on August 28, 1959.  Bessie was a God-fearing woman all the days of her life and served her Lord the best she knew how.  To say that Bessie was a homemaker seems like an understatement.  She truly made her family feel loved, cherished and cared for from their only son Eugene to their grandchildren and nieces and nephews that spent many days in their home enjoying her homemade meals and warmth she provided them.  Bessie also loved music, especially gospel and country music.  She would go to the Ingalls Activity Center and play the guitar and piano for all those that came to listen and dance.  Bessie was the Treasurer for the Ingalls Activity Center for many years as well.  Lastly, but certainly not least, Bessie was an avid OSU Cowboy fan through and through, whether they won or not!

Bessie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry; sisters, Hazel Gammon and Marie Lane and brother, Bob Dilley.

She is survived by her son Eugene Moebius; bonus son Robby Hammock; grandchildren, Billy Bigelow and wife Jessica, Kayla Riden and husband Joe and Michaella Schaffner and husband Tony; great grandchildren, Breanna, Libby, Mathew and William Bigelow, Tristen and Brayden Dowell and Aurora and Henry Schaffner; brother, Raymond Dilley and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her greatly.

A visitation will be held for Bessie from 2:00 – 8:00PM on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.  Funeral Services will be held at 2PM on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Yale Assembly of God with interment at Lawson Cemetery, Reverand Randell Newby will be officiating.
