Obituary

Betty Mae Ivy, a longtime Yale resident, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Tulsa at the age of 91.    Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, OK.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Betty was born on February 1, 1928 in Ripley, Oklahoma to the late Noah and Emma Alica (Kidder) Phillips.  She grew up in Ripley, graduating from Ripley High School in 1946.  Betty began her career with AT&T as a telephone operator in Cushing then transferred to Oklahoma City where she retired after 42 years of service.   She married Elroy "Dick" Ivy on July 7, 1974 in Atoka, Oklahoma and gained two sons Roy Lynn and Gary Don.   They lived in Oklahoma City and then made their home in Yale in 2001.  He enjoyed play music and she enjoyed listening to his music.  They were members of the First Baptist Church in Yale.  She loved driving fast!!  After the death of her husband, her son Roy Lynn continued to care for her.

Betty is survived by her sons Roy Lynn Ivy of Cushing and Gary Don Ivy and wife Cynthia of Mustang, adopted daughter Mimmie Smith of Cushing, nieces and nephews  Jeannie McCray of Morrison, Donna Homer of Moore, Connie Debruin of Tulsa, Wayne Phillips of Prue and Leonard Phillips of Georgia, grandchildren Tim Ivy, Rachelle England, Heather Lassley and Heath Ivy, and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elroy "Dick" Ivy, sisters Ray Reeves and Muriel Kerr, brother Wayne Phillips Sr.
