Betty Jo (Poorboy) Reed Simms of Yale, Oklahoma passed away on February 23, 2020 at the age of 93.  Betty was born on September 5, 1926 at Carter Nine, Oklahoma to Wattie and Bertha (Humble) Poorboy.  She was the second daughter, joining her older sister Gladys.  They were raised in the Assembly of God church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, first husband Gene Reed, and second husband Rod Simms.  Her youngest son, Bob Reed, passed away in January of 2017.

Betty is survived by her oldest son Larry G. Reed and wife Susan of Sand Springs, OK., her   grandsons Micah Reed and wife Amanda of Tulsa, OK., Joshua Reed of Sand Springs, OK., Stuart Reed and wife Krystl of Yale, OK., Kent Reed and wife Lori of Mannford, OK.  Also, her granddaughter Ashleigh Day and husband Richie of Yale, OK.  Her great-granddaughters include Jocy Armstrong, Micalah Reed, Kylin Reed, and Emerie Reed.  Her great-grandsons are Owen Armstrong, Reed Day, Sutton Day, and Elliott Reed.

Betty enjoyed ceramics, quilting, and crocheting.  She completed all arts and craft projects beautifully.  Her favorite enjoyment outside was mowing lawn.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing, OK.  Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, OK.
