Obituary

Betty Lou Todd age 79 passed from this life on December 7, 2019 in Cushing, Oklahoma.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cushing, Oklahoma with Rev. Sonny Johnston officiating.  Interment to follow services at Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing.

She was born May 17, 1940 in Arvin, CA to parents Martin and Nora (Curtis) Jones.  She was raised and educated in Cushing.  Betty married the love of her life, Bobby Todd on April 28, 1956.  Their union was blessed with two sons, Bobby "Eugene" Todd and Michael Dwayne Todd.  Betty loved traveling to Colorado with family and friends on hunting trips and many times to the lakes in Oklahoma to camp and fish.

Betty loved to cook and was known for her fried fish and famous cinnamon rolls.  She loved baking for family and friends and later in life shared many hours in the kitchen cooking with her grandchildren. Her passion and talent in the kitchen led her to own and operate Cimarron Choice Restaurant and Judge Roy Beans Night Club in Cushing.  She obtained her nursing license as an LPN in 1973 and would go on to be the director of nursing for Rest Haven Nursing Home in Cushing for 18 years.  Betty then worked for Carter Health Care as a hospice nurse where she cared for many patients as her ministry.  She had such an impact on those she ministered to that many stayed in touch sending Christmas card for years after their loved one's passing.  Betty was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed as a caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Betty is survived by her sons, Eugene and wife Carol Todd, Mike and wife Lori Todd; grandchildren, Kym (Todd) Pierce and husband Jason, Keri Todd, Bryan Todd and wife Jessica, Mollie (Todd) Tanner and husband Nick; great grandchildren, Brennon Pierce, Brooklyn Pierce, Emma Todd and Kyler Todd; brothers Jack Jones and Kenny Jones as well as numerous extended family.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Bobby, great grandson Eden Karter Todd; her parents; siblings, Jimmy Jones, Bobby "Dude" Jones, Wanda Coughran, Shirley Parker, and Carolyn Vanhousin.
