Bill K. Acklin was born into eternity on June 27, 2021 at the age of 78.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Bill was born February 27, 1943 in Cushing, Oklahoma to proud parents Charles and Katherine Acklin.  He graduated from Cushing High School with the Class of 1962 and was the State Championship football team in 1961-62.  Bill worked in banking for a period before starting Acklin Lawn and Garden in Cushing.  He was united in marriage to Sherry Combs on September 7, 1985 and shared many wonderful years together.  In his free time, Bill loved to hunt and hit the open road on his motorcycle.

Bill never met a stranger.  He loved working with friends, family, and everyone in the community, always with a warm smile.  Bill will be missed by all.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sherry of the home; children, Mark Acklin, Justin Acklin, and Shawn Jones; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; mother-in-law, LaDara Combs.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 300 E. Moses Street.
