Obituary

Brooklin Michelle Reed, a beacon of joy and courage, passed away on August 3, 2025. Born on January 15, 2009, in Stillwater, OK, Brooklin's zest for life and infectious smile touched all who knew her. She was a cherished daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend whose memory will be treasured forever.

Brooklin's family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her loving mother, Carrie McFarlin, and father, Zachary Reed. Her maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Tama McFarlin of Morrison, OK, and paternal grandparents, James Reed and his wife, Kathy, provided her with a foundation of love and support. Great grandparents John and Toni Evans of Canon City, CO, and Susie McAlister of Jet, OK also survive her. Brooklin's uncles and aunts, Mathew and Kirsten McFarlin of Perry, OK, Jeramiah Reed and his wife Randy, Eva McFarlin of Stillwater, OK, and Tonya Reed, along with her cousins Zoey, Carder, Kacey, James, Cohen, and Summer, will hold her memory close to their hearts. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents Velma and Henry McFarlin, Ann McCroskey, Dudley Jackson, Derald McAlister, Leon Reed, Clidine Reed, cousin Michelle Floyd, and aunts and uncles Joanne McFarlin, Susie McFarlin, Albert McFarlin, Lawrence McFarlin, and Eric Perkins.

A student at Stillwater Public Schools, Brooklin was about to enter the 11th grade, where she was known for her loving nature and determination. Her involvement in the Morrison First Assembly of God and the Missionette Program reflected her strong Christian faith and her desire to serve others.

Brooklin's accomplishments were many and varied. As a member of Girl Scout Troop #7069, she was recognized as the top seller of Girl Scout cookies on numerous occasions. Her competitive spirit shone brightly as she participated in the Special Olympics. Brooklin also found joy in riding horses at Turning Point Ranch, where she formed a special bond with the animals and staff.

Her interests were a reflection of her vibrant personality. Brooklin was the heart of her family, and she loved being around people. Music was a passion, and she could often be found jamming out to her favorite band, Shinedown. Her love for Daniel Tiger and Elmo was matched only by her enjoyment of eating at McDonald's and playing with her L.O.L dolls. Brooklin was also an avid wrestling fan, and she cherished the times spent at the lake, riding around on the boat with her family.

Brooklin's legacy is one of love, courage, and gentleness. She faced life's challenges with a brave heart and a warm smile, inspiring all who were privileged to know her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories of her family and friends, who will miss her dearly but are comforted by the knowledge that she is now at peace.
