Calvin Wayne Mason, a resident of the Kendrick/Tryon area, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in Oklahoma City at the age of 67.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, and will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Tri-County Church of Christ in Cushing, Okla., with Mr. Kyle Wright officiating.
Calvin was born on April 20. 1954 in Oklahoma City to the late Harold and Grace (Truman) Mason. He grew up in Oklahoma City where he graduated from Grant High School in 1972. He enjoyed riding bare back horses and bulls while competing at various rodeos throughout Oklahoma.
Calvin married the love of his life, Pamela Diane Montgomery on June 28, 1974 at Will Rogers Park in Oklahoma City. He built a woodworking company, while also serving as an Oklahoma City firefighter. He worked for the department for 25 years and retired in 2004.
Calvin and Pam moved their family to Kendrick in 1991.
There he began his love for ranching with cattle and horses.
He was a member of the Tri-County Church of Christ, where he was active on the benevolence fund.
Calvin will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Calvin is survived by his wife Pamela "Pam" Mason of the home, daughter Misty Michelle Menser and husband Justin of Tryon, daughter Andrea Mollet and husband Tyler of Tryon, son Brandon Mason and wife Bridget of Tryon, sons Calyn, Lane, and Booker Mason of Tryon, brother Clifton Mason and wife Angela of Seminole, sister Glenda Bennington and husband John of Tuttle, sister Carol Koonce of Moore, grandchildren Mason Menser, Cale Menser, Rafe Menser, Landon Mollet, Caleb Mollet, Carlee Mollet, Conner Mason, James Mason, and numerous other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law, Stan Koonce.
