Obituary

Carla Cook, age 84, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion to her family. She was born on May 1, 1941, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Jewel and Doris (Wilson) Sinor.

Carla grew up in Hammon and Elk City, where she formed many lifelong memories. She married Edward Kissner in 1955, and later married Stanley Lee Cook in 1957. In 1972, she made her home in Cushing, Oklahoma, where she continued to build her life centered around faith and family. She attended First Baptist Church and was known for her kind spirit and hardworking nature. Carla was baptized in 1975 by Rev. Jim Wilson at the Agra First Baptist Church.

Carla enjoyed making things with her hands and had a special talent for creativity. She loved crafting tin men, sewing, and caring for her children. She also spent time selling Avon and working with Cookie Factory, enjoying the friendships she made along the way. Above all, Carla cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and caregiver, always putting her family first.

She is survived by her three daughters, Doris Ingram, Debbie Pruitt and husband Gary, and Amber Sanders and husband George; two brothers, Howard Smith and wife Pat, and Ronald Chaddock; and one sister, Jhonnie McGilbery and husband Larry. Carla is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to honor her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Kissner and Stanley Lee Cook; one son, Stanley Durwood Cook; one brother, Roy Dean Chaddock; three sisters, Billie Thornburg, Carol Brinkley, and Barbara Skaggs; and two stepbrothers, Theodore Sinor and Scott Sinor.

Carla will be remembered for her loving heart, creative spirit, and dedication to her family. Her warmth and kindness touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at New Zion Cemetery in Chandler, OK.
