Carol
Hendrick
April 17, 1933 – January 14, 2020
Carol Lee Hendrick, former long-time Cushing resident, passed away in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, following an extended illness. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Carol was born on April 17, 1933, in Harriet, Arkansas, and moved to Seminole, Oklahoma, at a very young age. She was married to Tommy B. Hendrick on April 7, 1950, and the couple moved from Seminole to Cushing shortly thereafter. She lived in Cushing until 2006 when she moved to Oklahoma City.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy B. Hendrick; mother, Ruth Bryant of Seminole; father, Rufus W. Jackson of Arkansas; and sister, Julia Bryant Montin of Cushing. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Hendrick Dorsett of Mount Dora, Florida, and son, Tommy C. Hendrick of Piedmont, Oklahoma; two granddaughters and two great grandsons, Cecele Cackler Rogers and her son, Tyler Dunaway, of Clermont, Florida, and Crystal Hendrick Dean and her son, Preston Hendrick, of Waxahachie, Texas; a brother, Frank Duke Bryant of Shawnee, and sister, Dorothy Bryant Eversole of Seminole; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Carol was a deeply spiritual Christian who loved the Lord from the time she was a toddler. She taught Bible study at the First Baptist Church in Cushing for many years and was passionate her entire lifetime about sharing the gospel of Christ and her Christian faith. She was strong and courageous throughout her lengthy illness and looked forward to the day the Lord would call her home. Those of us who loved her deeply will miss her greatly while we celebrate that she is whole and well again with our Lord.
A Graveside Memorial Service in her honor will be held at 2:00 p.m., February 10, 2020 at Euchee Valley Memorial Park in Cushing, OK. In the event of inclement weather, the service will instead be held in the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 800 S. Linwood Avenue, Cushing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Fellowship Baptist Church, Post Office Box 67, Yale, Oklahoma 74085.
