Chris Aniya Ritchey, age 73, of Cushing, passed away on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024, at his home.  The family will be hosting a memorial service  at the Yale Church of Christ on Saturday, September 7th at 1:00 p.m.

Chris was born on May 3, 1951, in Yale, Oklahoma to the late Jack Ritchey and Mary Catherine (Loftis) Willard.  Growing up, he attended the Yale Public Schools, graduating in 1969.

For several years, he played lead guitar for a popular local band called "The O'Fenders".  He married Carol Skidmore in December 1971.  They later divorced.  Chris was an operator for Phillips Petroleum in Cushing for several years.  Later, he worked as a guard at Cushing prison and the Payne County Jail prior to retirement.  Chris never met a stranger.  He loved visiting with people wherever he went.  He greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends reminiscing about old times, listening to music, watching movies and riding his Harley.  He was a member of the Church of Christ.  Chris was also a pilot and enjoyed flying for many years.

Chris is survived by his nieces, Kelly Nickel and Jennifer Harris, both of Yale, plus many other cherished family members and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cindy Woods.
