Christopher
Bair
September 15, 1984 – April 24, 2021
Christopher Ryan Bair passed to the presence of Christ on Saturday morning April 24, 2021. A
gentler spirit you will never find. Fitting in was a lifelong struggle for Chris but he took every
step of the way in stride with gentleness and respect. "I'm not a fighter, I'm a lover", he often
pronounced.
Chris genuinely and deeply loved his family and friends. It is important to his family that you
know he struggled through drug addiction with opiates in his early 20s and later with
methamphetamines. He would want you to know you need to do whatever is humanly possible
to befriend, partner and work beyond your comfort zone to pull any friend or family member
out and away from such a life. Chris is proud to have been clean and sober for the past 4 and
a half years; we are proud of him too.
A special mention of a true friend, Garrett DeRycke, who strengthened Chris to life more than
any other influence, second to Jesus The Christ who Chris loved and clung to through his entire
adult life.
Christopher was born on September 15, 1984 in Tulsa Oklahoma to Vinson Scott Bair and Joy
Yvonne (Patterson) Bair. He attended the Cushing First Christian Church Disciples of Christ as a
child and adolescent where he was a member of the Disciples southern gospel quartet. He was
also a member of a band with a few of his friends around the same time. He loved music and
had the most beautiful voice. Chris loved camping, boating and animals in general, especially a
donkey he had at one time named Dulolly and the family cat he adoringly named "ShittyKitty"
(not sorry, that's his name). He graduated Cushing High School in 2003 after which he began
work as a CNA in nursing homes and attended college taking nursing courses.
Christopher is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Elizabeth and Charles Richard Patterson, uncle, Arthur Patterson, and aunt Debbie Jackson.
Christopher is survived by his grandparents Homer and Dixie Bair, parents Vinson and Joy Bair,
brother Scott Bair, Scott's wife Erica and niece Cody and nephews Jacob and Grant, close friend
Garret and lovingly-adopted niece Zoeann and nephew Aiden.
