Obituary

Clorita Ann (Balbin) Gerolaga passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and friends on the eve of October 8, 2019.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Stillwater, OK. Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Clorita was born on November 23, 1946 to Frances Marie and Cleto Mandin Balbin in Stockton, California. Clorita grew up and attended school in Stockton. While attending school, Clorita worked for San Joaquin Instructional Materials Center for 4 years. In 1965, Clorita graduated from Edison High School. In April of that same year, Clorita married her love of 5 years, Benjamin Gerolaga and to this union were born, Tamra Lanette in 1968, Stacie Ann in 1975 and Benjamin II in 1987. After working 10 years as an instructional aide, Clorita retired from the Salida Union School District. In January of 2006, Clorita and her husband Benjamin relocated and moved to Ripley, OK.

Clorita was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn in 1971 in Modesto, California. She was very dedicated to her faith and sought God diligently to understand how and what he wanted her to be. Clorita had a heart of gold, helping and comforting others any way she could. The Lord was her heart and no matter what hardship she faced, she always made time to thank and praise the Lord for his goodness and mercy towards her. Clorita loved spending time with all her family, friends and brethern. She was a great example to her family and to all those that surrounded her.

Clorita is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Benjamin; her children: Tamra Lanette, Stacie and husband David, Benjamin II and wife Jennifer; her five grandchildren: Michael Ryan (Mr. Nubbs), Shaylea Marie (Shay Shay), Leland David (Little Man), Axton Tye (Bubba) and Aryana Danielle (Toot). She is also survived by 1 aunt: Ruby Manual; 1 uncle: Sonny Robinson; 4 brothers: Michael Balbin, Richard Balbin, Allen Acas, and Gregory Acas; and numerous extended family and friends.

Clorita was proceeded in death by her parents: Marie and Cleto Balbin; 3 uncles: John "Jr" Huckabay, Carl Huckabay, and Odus Huckabay; and 2 aunts: Juanita Cooksey and Sandra Ervin.
