Clyde Carl Humble passed from this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his loving family.
Clyde was born on December 12th, 1930 to Carl and Lillie (Floyd) Humble in Luxora, Arkansas. He grew up in Blytheville, Arkansas, but later moved to multiple locations around Arkansas including: Dell, Manila, and Luxora with his parents share cropping. Clyde joined the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Korean War. While serving, Clyde began to write a young woman by the name of Barbara Brandon. Once on leave, Clyde met Barbara and later married. They married on August 9, 1954 in Tulsa, OK. They had two loving children, John and Brian. He attended accounting classes in Tulsa. He worked for Sears in the custom drapery department and later
retired as a division manager. Clyde supported his family installing custom window treatments and farming.
He attended the Silver City Free Will Baptist Church where he and Barbara would sing specials. He was the mayor of Oilton for four years, was an active member of the American Legion and Chamber of Commerce.
Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Clyde is preceded in death by one son: Brian Humble, three brothers: Jimmy Humble, Roger Humble, and Steve Humble, two sisters: Joyce McRae and Debbie Doty.
Clyde is survived by his wife: Barbara of the home, one son: John Keith Humble and wife, Teressa of Oilton, three siblings: Frank Humble and wife, Brenda of Arkansas, Mitchell Humble and wife, Debbie of Jennings, Marilyn McDaniel and husband, Ted of Tulsa, four grandchildren: Brice Humble, Ryan Humble and wife, Emily, Kyle Humble and wife, Lacey, and Randy Ooton. Clyde is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Oilton.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19th, 2019 at Silver City Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Brooks Cemetery in Silver City.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18th, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Oilton.
