Obituary

Curtis Gene Goddard, a lifetime Cushing resident passed from this life to a better one October 28, 2019 at Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, Texas.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Cushing, 2238 E Main St, Cushing, OK 74023.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a cause very near to Curtis' heart, API Scholarship Fund; NEO Chapter API, PO Box 1625 Cushing, OK 74023.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Curtis was born December 25, 1947 to Clara Jane (Broadston) Goddard and Arvil Curtis Goddard in Drumright, Oklahoma.  He received his early education at Lincoln Elementary in Cushing and graduated from Cushing High School in 1966.

After high school he worked out of state x-raying pipelines later attending Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma.  On January 11, 1969 he was united in marriage to Judy Adsit.  They made their home in Cushing where they raised their two sons, Billy Scott Goddard and Curtis Bradley Goddard.

Curtis worked for Evans of Cushing, Oklahoma Oilwell Cementing, Oilwell Fracturing, and finally Basic Energy.  He spent his retirement days watching grandkids and could often be found watching Dillon play baseball; Dalton play golf; Colin swim; and Chelsea play softball.  He loved to keep a beautiful yard and volunteered with Northeast Oklahoma Chapter of the API.  He made friends far and wide and loved music, dancing, and was a big OU Sooner fan.  He will always be remembered as a wonderful Husband, Father, and Papa.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Goddard of the home; two sons, Scott Goddard and wife Jacy of El Reno, Brad Goddard and wife Corbi of Bartlesville; five grandchildren, Jade and husband Andrew Sneed, Dillon, Dalton, Colin, and Chelsea Goddard; two great grandchildren, Indie and Jett; one sibling Karen Calkins of Cushing, as well as numerous other friends and family.  He will be missed by all.
