Danny Wayne Culbreath, 64, was born on December 4, 1961, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Frances Ripka and Charles Curtis Culbreath. After a long stay at Saint Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Danny was called home to be with Jesus at 6:11 a.m. on September 9, 2026.

Danny lived in Oklahoma City until the age of four, when his mother, Frances, moved the family to Cushing, Oklahoma. A year later, Frances married George Jobe, and Danny was raised on the family farm in Cushing. He attended Cushing Public Schools and graduated from Cushing High School. Following high school, Danny attended Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma, where he earned his associate degree in business.

Danny was an entrepreneur by nature and was never afraid to try something new. He had a special love for antiques and opened his own antique shops in Oklahoma City, Cushing, and surrounding communities. He also worked as a manager for several convenience stores throughout the area and as a handyman for numerous people. Danny had a gift for figuring things out, and there wasn't much he couldn't tell someone how to fix or build.

He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including fishing, woodworking, restoring old furniture, working in the yard, planting flowers, and working on cars. Danny especially loved older cars from the 1960s and 1970s and would choose an old car over a brand-new Mercedes any day. One of his dreams was to restore his grandfather's old 1960-something Chevrolet.

Danny also loved to travel, especially to the mountains of Arkansas. Some of his favorite moments were the simple ones—sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee, working in the yard, listening to country music, or spending time with one of his many projects.

Danny was always willing to lend a helping hand. As his health declined and he could no longer physically do many of the things he loved, his knowledge and wisdom remained. He could tell you how to do just about anything, and he was always willing to share what he knew.

Danny was known as a loner, but those who knew him best knew that his family meant everything to him. He never failed to be there when they needed him. He was their protector, and his quiet strength and presence will be deeply missed.

Danny was a true redhead and was often told that he looked like Willie Nelson. He loved country music and had a special love for the gospel song Amazing Grace. He loved to sing it, and many people never knew that Danny had such a beautiful singing voice.

Danny may not have always been the most outwardly religious person, but he believed in God and knew that Jesus Christ died on the cross for him. His faith was personal and meaningful to him, and his family takes comfort in knowing that Danny has now been called home to rest in the arms of Jesus.

For the past 15 years, Danny made his home in Meeker, Oklahoma, where he lived with his sister, Brenda Everman. Before that, he shared a home with his mother, Frances Ripka.

Danny is survived by his sisters, Debbie Hedge of Yale, Oklahoma; Shirley Castor of Drumright, Oklahoma; Brenda Everman of Meeker, Oklahoma; and sister Janet Brown of Edmond, Oklahoma; his brothers, Leroy Culbreath of Kansas and Tommy Queen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his sister, Elizabeth Best of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He also leaves behind his beloved best friend and companion, his cat, Krank.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Ripka of Cushing, Oklahoma; his father, Charles Culbreath of Oklahoma City; his stepfather, George Jobe of Cushing; his grandmother, Mamie Gordon; his step-grandfather, Charles Gordon, both of Oklahoma City; his grandfather, Charles Ripka of Arkansas; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.

A small memorial service for Danny will be held at a later date at his home in Meeker, Oklahoma. His family welcomes all of Danny's friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating his life. The date and time of the memorial will be announced on Facebook.

Danny leaves behind a family who loved him and will miss him dearly as they carry his memory.
