David Ross Staley passed from this life on January 2 ^nd , 2022.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer-Marler Funeral Home in Oilton.

David was a longtime resident of Oilton, OK, born on December 24 ^th , 1932, to Claude and Zula (Dickson) Staley.  David attended school in the Oilton area where he graduated in 1951.  After completing high school, David enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from 1952 to 1956.   After his years in the Navy, he obtained his degree in Mechanics at Okmulgee Tech.

During his years in the Navy, David married the love of his life, JoAnn Casada on August 26 ^th , 1953.  To this union were born 4 children, Bruce, Carol, Steven and Jay.  When they were growing up in Cushing, the family spent many days camping and fishing with family and friends.

After David's years in the Navy, he went on to be a Mechanic for Foresee Chevrolet and later at Texaco where he retired after 25 years of service.  David had a love for flying and in his late 50's, he got his own pilot license.  David was also dedicated to his faith and served as a Deacon at Oilton Christ Fellowship Church.  David lived his final two years as a resident at VA Center Claremore.

He is survived by his children: Bruce Staley of Oilton, OK; Carol Billingsley and husband Craig of Broken Arrow, OK; Steve Staley and wife Kathy of Jennings, OK; and Jay Staley and wife Anne of Wylie, TX. Grandchildren: Chad Billingsley and wife Sara of Broken Arrow, OK; Clint Billingsley and wife Kari of Broken Arrow, OK; Nathan Staley and wife Priscilla of Jennings, OK and Joel Staley and wife Lauren of Oilton, OK.  Great-Grandchildren: Allison, Nathan II, Reichen, and Oliver Staley; Aiden, Annistyn and Henry Staley; Oliviah and Ethan Billingsley; Hayden and Tyler Billingsley; JayLynn and Jayden McAnally.

David is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 59 years JoAnn; Brother, Doyle Staley; Brother, Claude "Bill" Staley; Sister, Carlene Nees; and Granddaughter Tiffany Staley.

Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 7 ^th , 2022, at New Life Ministries in Oilton, OK.  Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.palmermarlerfh.com .
