Delphia Mildred Smith, 102, passed peacefully from this life on December 10, 2020 in Ashland, Alabama.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

A private family service was held on Monday, December 14, 2020.

Delphia was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma on May 9, 1918 and was raised around the Kendrick area.  She married Ernest M. Smith and their union was blessed with two children, Juanita and Delbert.  Delphia was an active member of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church in Cushing, Oklahoma.  She enjoyed many years of fellowship with friends in Cushing who met weekly for quilting club.  After the passing of her husband, Delphia moved to Wichita to be near her daughter.  After Juanita's passing, she would move to Edmond, Oklahoma; Dallas, Texas; and finally, Anniston, Alabama staying near Delbert's family.  The final years of her life, she cherished most the special phone calls from family she received multiple times per week.  She will forever be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who truly had a servant's heart, always putting everyone else's needs before her own.

Delphia was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest and daughter, Juanita.

She is survived by her son Delbert and wife Sidney of Pell City, AL; five grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous extended family.
