Dorothy Juanita
Aldridge
December 19, 1943 – March 15, 2023
Dorothy Juanita (Pollard) Aldridge passed from this life at the age of 79 on March 15, 2023. Her care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Dorothy was born on December 19, 1943, to Homer and Dorothy (Locke) Pollard in Montrose, Colorado. Dorothy prided herself in being a hard worker. Even at nine years old, she lived with an older woman who needed in-home care. Dorothy became that caregiver for her.
Dorothy married her husband, Robert Aldridge, in 1963, giving them 60 beautiful years together. They moved to Ripley, Oklahoma in January 1975. They had three children, Robbie, James and Glenda. For years, their family owned the trash service in Ripley where Dorothy drove a trash truck for the business, along with taking care of her family. She also worked at the OSU Campus for almost 10 years after the family sold the business in Ripley. She enjoyed working hard, but taking care of her family was her greatest joy. Teaching her children life-long lessons, loving her family and ensuring they were provided for was Dorothy's goal in her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Oliver.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Aldridge, her sons, Robbie and James Aldridge and her daughter, Glenda Darkis; fourteen grandchildren, Matthew, Zoey, Mika, Nathan, Qorban, Caleb, Lilliana, Christopher, Sarah, Malachi, Ryan, David, Isabella and Jonathan; many more great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A public viewing will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, March 16, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
