Obituary

Dorothy Mae Dallas (Kennedy) was born on March 1st, 1936, to Bert and Lola Kennedy in Blackwell, Ok. Dorothy lived and attended school in Braman, Ok on a farm with 8 siblings. She met Robert Lee Dallas and later married on June 17th, 1954, and had 2 sons Glenn Robert Dallas and Dewayne Robert Dallas. In 1956, they moved to Robidoux, California for 30 yrs. Dorothy worked at a sprinkler factory and care provider for a lifelong friend until her friend passed. Robert and Dorothy Dallas returned to Oklahoma in 1991 purchasing a farm in Jennings, Ok. Dorothy worked for Quebecor World for approx. 6 years and Joe's gas station in Hallet, Ok, before officially retiring because of health reasons. Robert passed away March 5th, 1997. Dorothy continued living on the farm until March 2022 and moved to Sand Springs Nursing Home. She spent 1 year in a nursing home before moving in with her granddaughter, grandson-in-law, and great granddaughter. The farm sold in Sept 2023 after 30 years in Jennings, Ok.

Proceeding her death were husband Robert Dallas, Bert & Lola Kennedy (Mom & Dad), Joe (sister), Grace (sister), Frank (brother), Margaret (sister), Virginia (sister) and Debra Reed (Granddaughter) plus numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

Dorothy is survived by her 2 sons and daughter-in-law Glenn & Karen Dallas of Tulsa, OK., Dewayne Dallas of Canton, OH; granddaughter and grandson in law Kristina & Jimmy Abney; great grandkids Bryonna Dallas, Kayden Switzer, Jack Hughes and Alex Abney of Broken Arrow, OK; sister Delores Malcolm of Alva, OK; brother Jack Kennedy of Chino, CA; sisters-in-law Dorris Anderson and Goldie Crider plus numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to Glenn and Karen Dallas for providing 13 years of in-home care and Kristina and Jimmy Abney also Bryonna Dallas for opening their home to provide remaining in-home care until her death. A big thank you to Choice Hospice for providing exceptional in home medical care at this hard stage of life.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing, OK.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Pawnee First Assembly with Pastor Kirby Stevens officiating.  Following the service, burial will be held at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee.  A visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.
