Eddie John Porter passed from this life on August 7, 2023, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Eddie was born on April 1, 1958, in Tulare, California to proud parents Alvin "Pal" and Cleta (Jackson) Porter. He grew up and graduated from school there before the family moved to Perkins, Oklahoma. Eddie helped his father on the bridge construction crew for a time before eventually moving to DeWitt, Arkansas. In DeWitt, Eddie worked for Lennox, Adams, and spent many years as a welder.  He was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in DeWitt by Brother Oscar Wright.

Eddie loved to fish, especially catfishing and deep-sea fishing. He loved spending time with his family and was very close to his mother. They both moved back to Stillwater in 2018 and he cared for her until her passing in 2020.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Pal and Cleta Porter; and one infant sister, Roxanne.

Eddie is survived by his brothers, Ted Porter of Stillwater, OK, Terry and wife Wilma Porter of Tryon, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Thompson Cemetery Pavilion in DeWitt, AR.
