Edgar "Ed" Arthur Pratt, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at his daughter's home in Terlton with his family by his side at the age of 76. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m., December 30, 2019 at the Calvary Baptist Church, Sand Springs, Ok. Interment will follow at Pawnee Nation South Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.
Ed was born on May 10, 1943 in Perkins, Oklahoma to the late Andy and Ruth (Kent) Pratt. He grew up in Perkins, graduating from Perkins High School in 1961. After high school, Ed was an automotive mechanic then later began long haul trucking and more recently short hauls. While living in Sand Springs area, he was the grounds keeper and maintenance man for the Sand Springs Children's Home. He attended the Midway Baptist Church, Olivet Baptist Church then later the Sequoyah Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school, led the singles groups and drove the church bus for numerous trips to Eureka Springs and numerous other trips. Ed enjoyed playing the banjo and dominos, fishing and sporting events. He was a teaser and loved joking around with others.
Ed will be missed by his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his daughters Heather Guthrie and husband Tony of Skiatook, Andrea Lee and husband William of Terlton and Allison Perry of Pryor, brother Francis Pratt of Stillwater, grandchildren William A. Lee, Michael Dreadfulwater Jr., Rose Lee, Kaleb Dreadfulwater, Donovan Lee, Levi Dreadfulwater, Daisy Lee, Sam Daniels and husband Dalton and Abby Perry, great grandson Case Daniels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of nine years Virginia Pratt, son Eddie Jr. Pratt, brother Benjamin Pratt and sister Lillian Pratt Bass.
