Elida Magana
Gonzalez
February 18, 1955 – February 19, 2024
Elida Magana Gonzalez, a resident of Jennings, Oklahoma, passed from this life on February 19, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Elida was born on February 18, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Juan and Elida (Gutierrez) Magana. She was the second of five children. Elida attended and graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas. A few years later, Elida met Roman Gonzalez and was married on June 25, 1983. They soon realized that they had gone to the same school together, but never met. Their union was made complete with the birth of their two children, Ruben and Christina.
Elida was an outgoing individual, loving to be around people and share the same love that she provided to her own family. She was not one to complain nor seek monetary things for herself, but always looked out for the well-being of her family and those that stood in need. Elida spent years working for the US Attorney's Office as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 2007. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling the country and enjoying God's creation, but especially going on cruises.
Elida is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roman; her brothers, Johnny Magana and David Magana; and brother-in-law, Hector Marrero.
She is survived by her children, Ruben Gonzalez and wife JoEtta and Christina Gonzalez; grandchildren, Madilyn Gonzalez and Christian Gonzalez; sisters, Francis Ramirez and Maria Magana; sisters-in-law, Maria Cardenas and husband Danny and Guadelupe Marrero; brother-in-law, Varo Gonzalez and wife Rosie along with many more "adopted" grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her joy and love for life.
Visitation services will be from 3PM – 6PM on Sunday, February 25, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be the following morning at 10AM, Monday, February 26 at the Chapel at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
