Obituary

Fleeta Kay Greenfield Mason Todd, born February 22, 1947, to Roy and Eunice (Earnest) Greenfield passed from this life on August 5, 2024.

She was raised by her grandparents, Jasper and Lona Earnest, after Eunice passed at Kay's birth because of the promise made by Roy that he would not take Kay away from her.  She lived with her grandmother and her Uncle Elvis after her grandfather Jasper passed when Kay was 5 years old.  Then at 10 years old, her grandmother Lona passed and she began living her father Roy and his new wife Idalee Greenfield along with their four children. Kay came to think of Idalee as her mother.

Kay was raised in Cushing where she attended school.  She was part of the school choir with many of the brethren's children which she thoroughly enjoyed.  In 1962, when Kay was 15 years old, she was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by her grandfather Claude Greenfield.  The year she was to graduate, the family moved to Hennessey, Oklahoma, where she graduated.  One of her closest friends, Sharon Case Randolph, got her a job at OSU Stillwater working in the post office after graduation.  She worked for two years then moved to California where she met the love of her life, David Wayne Mason.  They married four months later.

Six months after they were married, David was drafted into the Army where he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia.  Kay had a lot of faith in God's protection over him.  David had orders to be deployed to Vietnam three different times but through Kay and the brethren's prayers, the orders were changed every time.  After David was honorably discharged from the Army, they moved to Fresno, California where they had their son Toby Grant.  Once they had the opportunity, they moved to Cushing, Oklahoma, where they had their other two children Bryan David and Deonna Kay.

Kay loved the brethren and loved doing for others whether sitting with them or cooking for them.  Through her life she had many jobs and hobbies; working for the post office, Gibble Gas, Maverick Mini Mart and Cushing Floral.  She was an excellent seamstress and made David and Toby shirts and Deonna dresses.  Some of her greatest joys was to have the brethren and her family in her home, cooking, entertaining and singing.  Kay always had a smile on her face and was glad to see you wherever she saw you.  Everybody who knew her loved her.

Kay is preceded in death by her mother Eunice Earnest Greenfield; grandparents, Jasper and Lona Earnest; grandparents, Claude and Ira Mae Greenfield; parents, Roy and Idalee Greenfield; siblings, Kyle Douglas, Sondra Carol, and Roylee Greenfield; son, Bryan David; daughter, Deonna Kay; and husband, David Wayne Mason.

She is survived by her husband, Erv Todd of the home; son, Toby Mason of Cushing, OK; grandsons, Bryce Mason and his wife Jackie of Perkins, OK, and Tyler Ryan Mason of Tryon, OK; great grandchildren, Katie Harper Mason and Brody Wayne Mason; son, Colton Todd of the home; daughters, Amber Morris and husband Larry and Tiffany Poulson and husband Jason all of Vici, OK; sister, Edwanna Myers of Cushing; brothers, Elvin Greenfield of Cushing and Darwin Greenfield and wife Stephanie of Guthrie, OK; plus many family, brethren and friends who loved Kay dearly.
