Frank Charles
Hasselmeier
November 10, 1941 – January 2, 2024
Frank Charles Hasselmeier, 82, passed away at his home in Cushing, OK. His care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
Frank was born November 10, 1941, in Galveston, TX, the son of Nolan M Hasselmeier and Evelyn Nesbit (Flake) Hasselmeier. Frank grew up in Galveston, TX, and graduated from Galveston High School in 1961. Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force and served overseas until 1965. Upon his return, he worked for the United States of America Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration in Colorado.
It was 1967 in Aurora, CO that he met and fell in love with Bama Sneed Provine. They began hiking and traveling around the Rocky Mountains. On March 9, 1971, they were married in their beloved mountains at the Sweetheart Wedding Chapel in Loveland, CO. In 1999, together they made their home in Arvada, CO. Bama retired from Safeway after 30 years, and Frank retired from the FAA after 33 1/2 years. Together, they shared over 35 years, scaling mountains, crossing streams, and walking hand in hand through many valleys. After Frank retired, they moved to Cushing, OK so Bama could be close to her family. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with Bama, visiting his three stepdaughters and their families, Evelyn Burns of Tulsa, OK, Connie & Gary Gibbons of Atlanta, TX, and Janice & Mike Moran; seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Frank also resumed playing golf. His courage and faith kept him strong for his last battle on earth, on January 02, 2024.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Palmer Marler Funeral Home; Nadine Huls his CMA; Kim Williams & Aaron Gainer for the food runs and homemade cookies and snacks; Jason Palmer family for helping with things around the house that Frank could no longer do; and Louis Barrera for getting meals and visiting Frank daily.
A casual celebration of life will be held at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2024. The family will greet friends and family at 10:30 AM.
Someday God will wipe away your tears. The same hands that stretched the heavens will touch your cheeks. The same hands that formed the mountains will caress your face. The same hands that curled in agony as the Roman spike cut through will someday cup your face and brush away your tears. Forever, he will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
