Frank George Paxton, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Friday morning, Feb 11, 2022 at his home in Cushing with his family by his side at the age of 79. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19. 2022 at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok.
Frank was born on February 4, 1943 in Paterson, New Jersey to the late Charles Ross and Cornelia "Cora" (Vennik) Paxton. He grew up in Paterson, NJ and then attended college for computer science. Frank worked for DWS to learn motherboards. Frank married the love of his life Joyce Cranke on April 8, 1966 in Santa Ana, Ca. He worked for Ben's Pool Supply in Fullerton, Ca. for a number of years. Frank was a member of the Church of the First Born in Long Beach, California and was baptized in August of 1966. They moved to Cushing in 2004 where they attended the Agra Church of the First Born. Frank and Joyce enjoyed singing together at many singing functions and numerous churches. Frank loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He worked very hard to get smiles and laughter out of anyone he met, it made his day complete. While his children were growing up, they enjoyed camping, nature, and fishing with his son. Frank like to ride his motorcycles and above all, loved going to church and listening to the gospel. He was a minister in the church and was a faithful servant to the Lord. He also loved fishing with his son.
Frank is survived by his wife Joyce of the home, daughter JoAnne Williams and husband Brian of Cushing and Cora Wayenberg of Idaho, son Frank Paxton Jr. of Cushing, siblings Lois Amato and husband Onafrio of Palm Beach, Fl., Dorothy Desbiens of East Stroudsburg, PA., Bob Paxton and wife Glenda of Willard, MO., grandchildren Joseph Paxton and April, Justin Lastra, Jordan McCoy and Nikki, Ashley Wayenberg, Austyn Wayenberg, Amber Paxton and Rebecca Paxton, and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Marie Steed, Ruth Ackerson, Estelle Koehler, Beverly Brown and Charles Paxton.
