Obituary

Gearl "Sis" Bernice Greenfield was born on September 18, 1939 to Roy and Ida Greenfield in a three-room farm house one mile west of the Parkland church.  Twenty minutes later, her twin brother "Bud" was born.   When Sis was very young, her family moved to California for a short period then back to the Parkland area where she grew up.

Sis was baptized by Brother Bobby Wittman at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on April 20, 1955.  She graduated as salutatorian from Agra High School in 1957.  On February 5, 1960, Sis married her high school sweetheart, Keith Britton.  She worked as a stenographer for the Lincoln County Attorney until around the time her second child was born.

Keith and Sis worked side by side in the dairy and on the farm, and she managed their finances and trucking business.  It was a common occurrence for them to host countless brethren by providing rooms, making beds and preparing numerous meals for their church family from all around the US.  During the 4 th of July meetings prior to Keith's death, hosting more than 30 guests, they slept on a pallet in the dining room with their children.  Keith was ordained at the Church of the Firstborn in 1978 and, with grace and charity, Sis assumed the supporting role.

They were married for 20 years until God took Keith, on August 26, 1980.   Keith would routinely take Sis in his arms to sing "I'll Go To My Grave Loving You".

His death left her with the responsibility of their three daughters -- Keila Denise, Kelly Deneen, Dena Jo, and their 7-year-old son, Aaron Keith whom she called her "son shine".

After Keith's death, she worked as secretary for Agra Public Schools, for Union National Bank and as administrative assistant for National American Insurance Company until her retirement in 2001.

On December 16, 1989, Sis married Brother Dean Wright.  They enjoyed 20 wonderful years together until God took Dean on March 5, 2010.  Sis had the opportunity to travel extensively with Dean.  They traveled to Japan, Hawaii, The Netherlands, Amsterdam, Germany, the north of France, Luxembourg, Belgium, England, Nova Scotia, Costa Rica, Catalina Island as well as other places within the US.

Sis survived a plane crash, car crashes, multiple fractured bones, and a number of heart attacks.  She suffered a stroke on July 10, 2008 and fell and broke her hip the following year. She was unable to take care of herself when Dean died.  Sis lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Dena Jo & Scott Bromley, for several years until she moved back to Chandler where she passed away on October 22, 2018 at the age of 79 years old.

Sis enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, entertaining family, playing games and traveling.

Sis was preceded in death by both parents, both husbands, a brother, two sisters, five brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, one niece and two nephews.

Sis is survived by her children and step-children:  Keila & Roger Daves of Cahone, CO; Kelly and Paul Wright of Norman; Dena Jo & Scott Bromley of Davenport; Aaron & Tiffany Britton of Kansas, OK; Susan Rossi of Midwest City; and Steve & Diana Wright of Wichita.  Her siblings, twin brother Bud Greenfield of Chandler and Marvadeen McCracken of Wichita. Ten grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren: Brandi & Tim Hocker, Chance & Haley Daves, Michael & Brianna Daves, Blaine & Jaisie Daves, Zachary Bromley, Anna Bromley, Olivia Bromley, Madilyn Britton, Emma Britton, Ruthie Britton, Lindsey & Chase Asher, Laura Wright, Scott & Kristen Cummings, Joshua & Jera Wright, Jacob & Hannah Wright, and Lucas & Jessica Wright, ten great-grandchildren, 27 beloved nieces & nephews and many friends.
