Gladys Fern Jester a longtime Yale resident, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home at the age of 90.  Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Lawson Cemetery, Yale, OK.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale, OK.

Gladys was born on September 11, 1928 in Glenpool, Oklahoma to the late William Ray and Estella Irene (Cumby) Morris.   She grew up in the Glenpool/Keefer area, attending school in Glenpool.  Gladys moved to Yale in 1946 with her family where she worked for her dad at his Service Station.  Gladys married the love of her life William Jester on June 30, 1947 in Winfield, Kansas.  To this union Billy Lee, Cherry Ann, Ladonna Kay, and Roger Dale were born.  They made their home in Yale where they raised their children.   They also enjoyed square dancing.   Gladys owned the Family Store in Yale for many years.  She also babysat many children while her children were in school. Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church.   She was actively involved in the American Legion Auxillary and was past president of the 5 ^th District.  She started an American Legion Auxillary Flea market.    She was very active in the community but stayed behind the scenes most of the time.

Gladys is survived by her son Billy Jester and wife Linda of Yale, daughters Ladonna Kay Lewis and husband Jim of Yale, Cherry Galvan of Yale, grandchildren Tammy Ringgenberg and husband Russ, David Earl Donaldson, Samantha Wright, Jennifer Grau and husband Paul, Dustin Lewis, 15 Great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Roger Dale Jester, siblings Grace Samuals, Virginia Dennis, Bill Morris, Bob Morris and Pat Johnson and grandson Joseph Jester.
