Glover F. Hayes Jr. passed from this life on Thursday, November 30, 2023, in Chandler, OK at 83.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Tryon Cemetery with Brother Tom Wright officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 108 of Cushing.

Glover was born on January 24, 1940, to Glover and Mattie (Salladay) Hayes in Farmersville, California.  After finishing school, Glover joined the United States Navy and served his country proudly for numerous years.  While serving, a young lady by the name of Marilyn Hailey, met Glover through family friends and would write letters to Glover while serving in Okinawa, Japan.  After being honorably discharged, Glover married Marilyn on December 3, 1959, in Kingsburg, CA.  They shared 59 loving years together before her passing.  Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Glover Hayes III, and Gayle. Glover and Marilyn moved to Tryon, Oklahoma in 1981.

Glover was a hard-working man, always providing for his family.  He worked for Lincoln County as a road grader for numerous years.  Glover's favorite pastime was mowing lawns.  He would mow five in one day to help local families.  While living in California, proudly served as an elder at the McKinleyville Church of the Firstborn.

Glover was a proud family man.  He loved to spend as much time possible with grandkids, spoiling them with jellybeans.  His legacy will live on through them.

Glover will be reunited with his love, Marilyn, on December 3 to share their 64th anniversary together.

Glover is preceded in death by both his parents; his loving wife of 59 years, Marilyn Hayes; three brothers, Jessie "Sonny" Hayes and his wife, Nona, Jimmy Hayes and his wife, Janice, and David Hayes; two sisters, Wanda Halencack and her husband, Rudy, Violet Hargess and husband, Kenny; one daughter, Phyllis Gayle Hayes.

Glover is survived by one son, Glover Hayes III and wife, Janet of Tryon; two siblings, Lavella Ghisetti and husband, Ernie of Eureka, CA, Mary Alcorn of Oregon; five grandchildren, Andrew Hayes and wife, Rebecca of Summerville, SC, Alicia DelosSantos and husband Joe of Tecumseh, Glover Hayes IV and wife, Michala of Chandler, Jessie Hayes and huband, Jacob of Carney, Casey Johnson of Stillwater; five grandchildren, Joe DelosSantos V, Zoey DelosSantos, Braden DelosSantos, Glover Hayes V, Emmie Lou Hayes.
