Gola Pauline Thompson, age 87 of Cushing, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Linwood Village Nursing Home, Cushing, Ok.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 12:30 p.m., at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.  Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Gola was born on September 5, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Ok to the late Marvin and Ruth (Brannon) Brown.  She grew up and attended high school in Oklahoma City.    Gola married Don Gourley, to this union, Richard and Daniel were born.   They lived in Ponca City, Cordell and then moved to Cushing.    She worked as a bookkeeper and in-home health care.  Gola later married Virgil Thompson and they made their home in Yale on a farm where they lived until his death.   She then moved to Florida to live with her son and daughter-in-law. Then she eventually moved back to Cushing and has lived at the nursing home for the past few years.

Gola is survived by her sons Richard Gourley and wife Jana of Deland, Fl. And Daniel Gourley and wife Susan of Billings, Montana, grandchildren Mica, Joshua and Christopher.

She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Thompson, brothers Carl Brown and Lloyd Brown.
