Harlan Eugene
Brandon
April 13, 1939 – October 4, 2024
Harlan Eugene Brandon, 85, of Jennings, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on October 4th, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family.
Harlan was born on April 13, 1939, to Martin Avery Brandon and Nancy Ina Guest in Waynesville, Missouri. After Harlan graduated from Oilton High School in 1957, he went on to work several jobs before settling into a job working on the railroad in Porter, Oklahoma for about 10 years. Harlan then started a 20-year career at National Tank Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He retired from there in 1985 to go back to school at Vo-tech to obtain a state mechanical license, specializing in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
In 1985, Harlan started his own heating and air conditioning company, serving communities across Oklahoma. He met and made several friends throughout his time as a business owner and loved chatting with customers. Harlan retired completely in 2022.
In 1956, Harlan met the love of his life, Marylyn Nicholas, at Oilton High School. They married on December 21, 1957, and went on to have 2 children, Harley and Stanley Brandon. Harlan and Marylyn had the privilege of enjoying 66 years together. Harlan had many hobbies, and he never met a stranger. He especially loved coon hunting, training his many dogs, fishing, deer hunting, garage sale shopping, and spending time with his family. If you knew Harlan, you know he always had the best stories to share, even though he liked to exaggerate a bit. He was also a loving husband, father, and grandpa who everyone adored.
He loved his work and wanted to do good for everyone he met. Harlan was an ordained Elder of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Cleveland, Oklahoma, where he attended church for 37 years. Harlan always looked forward to watching all of his grandchildren's sporting events and supporting them however he could.
He is survived by his wife, Marylyn Brandon of the home; his two sons, Harley Brandon and his wife JoAnn of Quay, Oklahoma, Stanley Brandon and his wife Darla of Jennings, Oklahoma; three siblings, Barbara Humble of Oilton, Oklahoma, Scott Brandon of Oilton, Oklahoma, and Ray Brandon and his wife Denise of Oilton, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Donald, Zeb, Jaedee, Madelyn, and Bree; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
