Harry George Franklin, longtime Cushing resident, passed from this life on Monday, August 19, 2024, with family by his side.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Hunter Cemetery.
Harry was born on October 21, 1943, to Carrie (Hunter) and Alex Franklin in Pawnee, OK. He grew up in the Cushing area, attending Cushing Public Schools. Before finishing high school, Harry joined the United States Army. While in the army, Harry earned his G.E.D. After numerous years of serving, Harry was honorably discharged and returned to Cushing.
Harry found his true love, Lenora Duncan. They married and made their home in Cushing. Harry was a hard-working man, always working with his hands. He became an automotive mechanic and mastered his craft. He built many relationships around Cushing with his automotive skills.
Harry's true passion was his family. He and Lenora loved spending time with all his nieces and nephews. They would host numerous feasts throughout the year allowing family to spend time together.
Harry was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed.
Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Lenora; both parents, Carrie (Hunter) and Alex Franklin.
Harry is survived by one sister, Sharon Abney and husband, Don. Harry is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families and other relatives, his 3 beloved dogs: Bo, Iris, and Cissy.
