Harry Sneed, Jr. was born in Maramec, OK, to Harry Sneed, Sr., and Ica Elmeda (Lawson) Sneed (daughter of SJ Lawson – founder of the town Lawson, which is known as Quay, Oklahoma).  Harry married Joyce Alberta "Peaches" Maxwell in 1948.  Harry and Peaches had three children, Joyce Elaine Skidmore, Marsha Lynn McLaughlin, and Harry Dewey Sneed III.

Harry, Jr. was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, his parents, his brothers Bliss and David Sneed, his sister Bama Hasselmeier, and his firstborn grandson, Jeremy Skidmore.

Harry is survived by his three children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 greatgrands.  Grandchildren:  Aaron and Rebecca Skidmore-Dow of Truth or Consequences, NM, their children Seth and Laura Dow and Jaylah Dow Pendleton; Jessica Skidmore (wife of late Jeremy Skidmore) Lindy, Laney and Landon Skidmore, Andy and Sarah McLaughlin-Greene of Bethany: Clare, Lilly, and Max.  Andy and Hanah Bartee: Sammy and Sofia Fundaro.  Heather Sneed: Isabella and Gatlin; Kylee Sneed: Gracelynn and Harry IV and Catherine Sneed; his siblings William and Pat Dooley-Sneed and Evelyn Johnson (late Max Johnson) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Harry will remember him as funny, yet he had his most serious (and sometimes aggressive side); his creativity, his sense of adventure and his determination.  He defied natural settings and survived in situations that that others could not have managed.  He went to be Jesus, and his beloved Peaches, peacefully.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Yale Assembly of God.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
