Hazel Larue
Hills
December 1, 1948 – February 13, 2023
Hazel LaRue Hills went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2023, with her children by her side. Her care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK.
Hazel was born to Leroy Fredrick Troup Sr. and Anna Grace (Foust) in Indiana, PA. She was one of seven children. Hazel became lovingly known to her husband, Timothy Hills, as Sugar Bear and she returned the sentiment by calling him Papa Bear. Hazel was the very proud mother of her three children: Scott, Chasity and Belinda. She loved spending time with her family and helping to create memories to last a lifetime.
Hazel's favorite pastime was cooking. Not only was she a masterful cook, she shared her knowledge with her family to ensure that they too could provide love through a wonderful homecooked meal. She opened her home to those in need and this didn't stop with humans. Hazel loved surrounding herself with 4-legged fur babies. She was a loving safe haven for many dogs, cats and even an albino skunk. Not only was Hazel a compassionate giver, she was also an avid collector. She collected the finest clothing, shoes and knick-knacks around, at least they were the finest around to Hazel. She enjoyed dressing up and providing a beautiful home for her family and friends. She didn't need much in this life but the love of her Papa Bear, her children and her grandchildren. Having them around her making wonderful memories was what put a smile on her face.
Hazel will be greatly missed by her family and all those that knew her, especially for her love of Christmas and her favorite morning breakfast from McDonalds with Papa Bear of biscuits and gravy, a bear claw, cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Reefy and four of her brothers: Leroy, James, William and Charles.
She lives on in the hearts and memories of those that are survived by her. She left behind her Papa Bear; her brother Daniel Troup; her son Scott Waller and his wife Jeana; her daughter Chasity Harley and her husband Frank; her daughter Belinda Donahey; her six grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren.
