Homer Edward Lyon, 78, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Cushing, Oklahoma with his family by his side. Homer was born May 29, 1947, in Cushing, Oklahoma to Hershel and Lucille (Cunningham) Lyon.

Homer married Nancy Arnold, the love of his life, on December 30, 1966. They were married for 59 years.

Homer proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was with the 101st Airborne Division. For numerous years, he worked in construction, welding and as a crane operator. Homer worked at Sinclair Oil Refinery and retired in 2009, after 26 years.

Homer loved metal detecting, reading, scaring people and pulling pranks. Most of all, he loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Homer is survived by his wife, Nancy; children Shelley and Brian Endicott, Billy and Rhonda Lyon, Joshua Lyon, Kimberly Wall, Kilee and Glenn Bolton and Dagan Lyon; grandchildren Shelbie and Russel Prince, Jared and Brittany, Tyler and Renata, Nate Endicott, Cody Lyon, Sylah Lyon and SiAnna Lyon; great grandchildren Leetha, Phoenix, Ember, Brynlee and Cooper and special friends Bob and Linda Garton.
