Howard "Leon" Stiles, 75, of Cushing, Oklahoma, passed away on May 11, 2026, in Cushing. Born on July 15, 1950, in Yale, Oklahoma to Darrell and Effie Stiles, Leon lived a life marked by dedication to his family, faith, and community.

Leon pursued his education at Okmulgee Vo-Tech and Central Vo-Tech, specializing in Small Engine Repair. His career spanned 35 years as an Electromechanical Engineer at the Cushing Power Plant, where he was known for his expertise and commitment before retiring.

On September 5, 1975, Leon married LuAnn Sue Ford of Yale. Together they built a loving home and celebrated their golden anniversary in September 2025. Leon is survived by LuAnn of the home; his children Pamela Fox and husband Brent of Oklahoma City; Stacie Casey and husband James of Prague; Stefanie Ryker and husband Mark of Cushing; and JD Stiles and wife Dawn of Cushing. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren—Bryan Casey, Alexis Qader, Luke Stiles, Addison Zanghi, Alyvia Fox, Elizabeth Stiles, Matthew Stiles—and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Darrel and Effie Stiles.

Faith played a central role in Leon's life. A devoted member of the Yale church of Christ, he served as a deacon from 1982 to 1994. His love for scripture was evident through his enjoyment of reading the Bible and studying history.

Leon found joy in simple pleasures: fishing on quiet days, watching cartoons with a smile on his face, taking day trips to explore new places, or working on small engines in his shop. He cherished time spent with his cat Dot and had a knack for connecting with people during his coffee runs around town.

Leon's memory will be treasured by all who knew him. May his legacy of kindness and devotion bring comfort to those he leaves behind. Visitation will be Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.  A Celebration of Life will be held on May 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Yale Church of Christ 826 E Detroit Avenue. Interment to follow at Lawson Cemetery in Yale.
