Jacob Henry Amberg IV was taken home to heaven on Wednesday, October 14, three months shy of his 75th birthday. Jacob, who went by “Jack“, was a long-time resident of Yukon but recently had relocated to Stillwater via Cushing.

Jack was an outgoing and friendly man of many interests, a loving husband, a lifelong skilled artisan, expert in cabinet making as an independent businessman until he retired. He had a zest for life and enjoyed hunting, and spending time fishing, camping with friends and RV-ing at Lakeside Campground on Lake Texoma. He knew how to enjoy the simple treasures of life and truly stopped to smell the roses, especially the red ones which he cultivated at home, enjoying coffee on the back porch at sunrise, and planning and planting his vegetable garden. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob, Henry Amberg III, who went by Jake, and his mother Ann Herring and brother-in-law Dr. David Reinecke. He survived by his wife, Jennifer Amberg and his sister Cathy Reinecke, who provided loving care for Jack in his final days and weeks. Although not blessed with children of his own, Jack loved and is survived by his niece Jill Clark, and nephews Brad Reinecke and Jeff Reinecke as well as greatnieces, greatnephews, and dear cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Euchee Valley Memorial Park in Cushing, Oklahoma.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, anyone so inclined make a donation to the first United Methodist Church of Cushing or to the charity of their choice.
