Janie Glynnette (Mabry) Lancon passed peacefully from this life with her family by her side at the age of 95 years.  Her care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Janie was born on November 13, 1927, to parents Glenn and Alda (Wimberly) Mabry in Houston, Texas.  Even from a young age, Janie was a loving person and knew she someday, she wanted to have a family of her own.

She met Doty Lancon and they soon were married and were able to enjoy 37 years together.  They had two children, Carol and Larry.  To think of Janie is to think of her love toward her God.  She was a faithful follower of Christ and set a beautiful example for her children and grandchildren to follow.  Janie's love for her God was certainly her priority, but a very close second would be her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was so happy to paint, do her arts and crafts and cook for and with her family.

Janie was a wonderful example of how to live and she will be greatly missed.

Janie is survived by her daughter Carol Thompson and husband Zan; grandchildren Tashania Erassarret and husband Jono, Crystal Petri and husband Marcus, Dusti Thompson and husband Chris and Mandi Thompson; seven great-grandchildren, Jono Erassarret Jr. and wife Jennifer, Taylor Ozan, Nathan Ozan III and wife Katelyn, Ty Ozan, Charlsie Mortimer and Tatum Petri along with 5 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Doty Lancon and her son Larry Lancon.

A visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.  Funeral Services for Janie will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Yale, Oklahoma.
