Janis Ollie (Miller) Ball passed away on August 18, 2024, at the age of 76. Born to parents George and Dorothy (Stevens) Miller on November 14, 1947, Janis was a cherished member of the Agra community where she spent her formative years and graduated from high school.

Janis's early career began as a waitress at the Agra Cafe, where her warm smile and genuine kindness made a lasting impression. On August 9, 1966, she married the love of her life, Thomas Ball Jr., in Cushing, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with a son, Thomas Ball III, and together they embarked on a life full of love and hard work.

In 1968, Janis and Thomas purchased a farm where they dedicated themselves to raising cattle and growing hay and wheat for over 56 years. As a devoted stay-at-home mom, Janis created a loving home for her family, and her nurturing spirit was evident in every aspect of their lives. Once her son left for his own journey, Janis transitioned to working as a clerk at May's Pharmacy in Cushing, where she continued to spread her joy and infectious laugh.

Janis was known for her happiness and unmistakable laugh. She had a special fondness for Coca-Cola and was a passionate animal lover, particularly of cats. Her laughter and optimism touched all who knew her, and her presence will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Ball Jr and three beloved sisters: Addy Waymon, Judy Hurst, and Gail Crary. Janis is survived by her son, Thomas Ball III, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who will remember her fondly.

A visitation will be held for Janis from 4PM - 8PM on Thursday, August 22, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.  Funeral services will be at 10AM on Friday, August 23, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home's Chapel, officiated by Pastor Sonny Johnston.
