Jean Marie Yates, a longtime Oilton resident passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019  at her home in Oilton at the age of 76.  Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Highland Cemetery, Oilton, OK.   Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, Ok.

Jean was born on August 17, 1943 in Washington D.C. to John ad Beatrice (Pool) Carter.  She was one of numerous siblings.  Jean grew up in Henryetta,  then after raising her children  attended night school in California, receiving an Associate Degree in Accounting.    She lived in numerous places from California, Boston, Florida then back to Oklahoma where she made her home upon retirement in Oilton in 1998.  Jean began raising her grandchildren in 1999 and loved every minute of it.  She enjoyed playing cards and taking care of others.

She will be missed by all that knew her.  Jean loved everyone that came into her life and they loved her as well.

Jean is survived by her children Tom Norman of Tulsa, Jimmy Norman of Oilton, Michaela Norman of Oilton and Michael Norman of California, grandchildren Tonya Dymond of Oilton, Tina Dymond of Norman, Tracy Dymond of Oilton, Sarah Snyder and husband Hayden of Cleveland, T.J. Norman of Tulsa, great grandchildren Emily, Samuel and Jackson, numerous brothers and sisters

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Norman (father of her children), brothers John Carter and Stanley Carter.
