Jerald "Jerry" Lee Durbin Sr. passed from this life in his sleep at his home in Agra on May 26, 2021.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Tryon First Assembly of God with Reverend Gene Herndon officiating.  Interment will follow at Tryon Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Jerry was born on February 17, 1934, in Denver, Colorado to Ruby Ernestine and Oel Daniel Durbin.  Jerry grew up and attended school in Denver.  After graduating high school, Jerry met Nancy Fairchild.  They married in July of 1968, celebrating 52 years of marriage. They had three sons: Thomas, Timothy, and Troy, as well as numerous foster children with special needs.  He fostered children for 30 years and was an advocate for special needs children, serving on many committee boards.  Jerry was active with the Feed the Children organization and volunteering in street ministry in Oklahoma City.  Jerry was a supervisor for P.I.E. trucking and owned and drove trucks for several companies.  Jerry worked in the oil industry and was a law officer for Tryon, Agra and Perkins.  Jerry owned a feed store in Tryon before going to Saudi Arabia to work for Cook Oil Company.

Jerry had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed.

Jerry is preceded in death by parents, Oel and Ruby Durbin, stepmother, Virginia Durbin; three sisters, Mary Tezar, Maurene Durbin, and RosaLee Suggs; two brothers, William Durbin and Ronald Durbin, and one foster daughter, April Shepherd.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Durbin; sister, MaryLyn Patulia; three sons, Thomas L. "Reoh"Durbin, Timothy Durbin, Troy Durbin; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives.
