Jerry Leon Silas, affectionately known as "Wease" was born July 23, 1981, to Richard and Oletha Silas in Perkins, Oklahoma. From the age of 4, Jerry grew up in Cushing, attending Sunnyside, Cushing Middle School and later graduating from Cushing High School in 2000. Jerry's childhood was playful, often full of laughs and jokes. His vibrant energy and huge smile often lit up any room that he entered.

In high school, Jerry was an outstanding track athlete and played a few years of basketball and football. After graduation, Jerry attended Langston University, where he gained many friends whom he would eventually call family. If you asked some of Jerry's closest friends, they would tell you that Jerry was a comedian by day and a rapper by night. He spent his adult life in Cushing and Stillwater, Oklahoma working in the transportation, moving service industry and Ross Dress for Less dedicating his career to serving others in a variety of meaningful roles.

At an early age, Jerry was baptized and attended Mount Olive Baptist Church in Cushing, Oklahoma under the leadership of Pastor Johnston Vickers. Jerry accepted Christ early in his life and his faith in God played a vital role in shaping his character, deepening his compassion, and nurturing the love he had for his family and friends.

Jerry deeply loved his family, but above all, he cherished his children, Isis Marie and Jaxon Royal. They were the light of his life, and he took great pride in being their father. He loved his family and friends with all of his heart and loved spending time with them all.

On April 6, 2025, Jerry departed this life and entered eternal life at OU medical Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. He lives to cherish his memories, two children Isis Marie and Jaxon Mercer; two brothers Benjamin Verner (Raylene) and Richard IV of Stillwater, OK; parents Richard and Oletha Silas of Cushing, OK; nieces Alexandra Nicole, Shyana Rae, and Siya; nephew Benjamin Jr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A family-held memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church in Cushing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
