Obituary

Jewley Christine Wright passed from this life on February 25, 2023, at her home in Parkland surrounded by her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Jewley was born October 31, 1973, in Wichita, Kansas to parents Jimmy and Zelma Watkins. Soon after they would move back to Dewitt, Arkansas to be near family and friends. Jewley learned to cook and help her mother around the house and in the garden. She spent a lot of time at her grandparents helping to can and learning about having hospitality. Her upbringing deeply instilled in her the desire to have those things in her own home. Jewley's parents were baptized when she was 11, and shortly after God began dealing in her heart as well. On March 13th, 1987, at the age of 13, she was baptized at Beaver Lake in Rogers, Arkansas into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.

On April 27, 1991, she married the love of her life, Richard Wright, in Cushing Oklahoma. God led them to Heber Springs, Arkansas for a bit, and also to Tuscaloosa, Alabama before being led back home to Parkland to stay. Having traveled so much in her younger years Jewley had made many friends and was blessed to have many come to visit through the years. She was not a shy person. If she didn't know you, she would go up and introduce herself and that helped to bring Richard out of his shell.

Jewley's life was not without trials, but God carried her and her family through them and have many wonderful memories. She was blessed to have 5 beautiful children, although God called Agaytha at age 3, they were able to raise 4. Jewley took much care in raising her girls teaching them to cook, clean, and be given to hospitality. Her son was the apple of her eye, he was so spoiled, but she could box his ears just as much as she loved him. Her girls were her world. She loved to dress them up and put the biggest bows in their hair that she could find. "I love you all so much, I'm so blessed!" was her last sentiment to them.

Jewley is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Agaytha Christine; her father, Jimmy D. Watkins, and father-in-law Thomas Wright.

She is survived by her husband Richard Wright of Parkland, OK; daughter, Mikka Ward and husband Levi of Sacramento, CA; son Bradley Wright and wife Kimberley of Agra, OK; daughter, Karrey Corter and husband Kyle of Enid; daughter Autumn Sundquist and husband Nate of Agra, OK; grandchildren, Darius, Damon, Atreus, Artemis, Amelia, Olivia, and Koen (in Jewley's words "I was so blessed to be called Nana!"); her mother, Zelma Watkins of Cushing, OK; brother Don Watkins and wife Teresa of DeWitt, AR; brother Michael Watkins of AR; sister Amylynn Rodgers of Cushing, OK; mother-in-law Carolyn Wright of Cushing, OK; and lots of extended other family and brethren she loved.
