Joann Whitney (Brock) 75, of Cushing, Oklahoma passed away with her family by her side on July 27, 2024.

Joann was born to mom's name and dad's name in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She grew up working with her parents and 2 siblings on a farm.

During her life Joann had always been a hard worker, had many different types of jobs from an Oil truck driver and ended her career as a nurse, to be a full time mom and wife.

Joann moved to Cushing OK, and had a passion to raise and care for her children and grandchildren as much as she could.

Joann married the "Love of her Life", Richard Whitney. During their marriage they were living proof of a true love story, known as Nana and Papa, they worked endlessly to be present and raise her grandchildren. Together they committed to move through the joys and hardships of life together. And that is, in the end, exactly what they did until Papa departed this earth in 2019.

Joann loved her family dearly she has many friends and family who have been a very important part of her life. Calling her, visiting and keeping in touch when she was struggling with her health.

Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren including Adam, Stephen Scott, Ashliegh, Linden, and Reanna Lansford.

In her most recent years Dion and Matty were her best friends, her babies, her caretakers over the last years. From daily phone calls, visits and the memories they shared with her will never be forgotten.

She treasured playing Crazy 8 with Gauge, sharing her candy stash with Ellie & Parker, enjoying Reanna helping and sitting with her nana and linden making sure she got her junk food brought to her and enjoying the out of state phone calls from Ashleigh Adam and Scotty and being involved as much as she could in their lives. One thing they will always know is nana was calling everyday to ask about school grades, sports, and making sure they knew she loved all her grandkids.

In addition to her parents and many siblings, JoAnn is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Whitney.

Joann is survived by her kids Stephen, Travis, Degina, Danny, Dana and many grandkids and great children.

Joann was a loving mother and nana, dedicated wife and a Woman of God. Her strength and dedication to family and friends left an incredible mark on all who knew her but in her words "it's time to be with papa".

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Crossway Church with Pastor Sonny Johnston officiating.
