Johnny Ray Sanches passed from this life with his family by his side on September 10, 2024, at his home in Ripley, Oklahoma.

Johnny was born on October 23, 1958, in Lufkin, Texas, to parents Sam and Alice (Knight) Sanches.  Johnny was one of six children, so he learned at an early age the orneriness that he carried with him the rest of his life.  Johnny went to school in Lufkin and soon began working local jobs before he found the career he would spend the next 30+ years doing, being a truck driver.

Johnny married Anna Butterfield and they spent the next 42 years building a beautiful life together bringing their four children into the world.  Johnny loved the family he was blessed with, but had a special place in his heart giving them a hard time, in fact, he enjoyed giving everyone a hard time.  He became lovingly known as "Grumpy" at the local Maverick.  When Johnny wasn't picking on anyone, he found himself fishing at some of his favorite lakes.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Mary Jo and his brothers, Donald Sanches and Wayne Landrum.

He leaves behind his wife Anna Sanches; children, Jessica Tipton and husband Ty, Johnny Sanches Jr and wife Cynthia, Rebecca Ritter and husband Justin and Christine Beasler and husband Nick; seven grandchildren, Lainey Sanches, Caitlynn Sanches, Morgan Sanches, Samuel Geren, Jaxton Ritter, Walker Ritter and Athryn Beasler, along with many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him greatly.

Funeral services for Johnny will be at 2pm on Friday, September 13, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home's Chapel in Cushing, Oklahoma, with interment at Mt Hope Cemetery in Ripley, Oklahoma.  Pastor Toby Tiner will be officiating.
