Obituary

Joshua Samuel Bond, longtime Agra resident passed from this life on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Joshua was born April 4, 1986, in Perkins, Oklahoma to proud parents James and Nila (Burton) Bond.  He was raised in the Agra area graduating from Agra High School with the class of 2004.  He then attended Oklahoma State University obtaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2012. In July of 2003, Joshua was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at Parkland by Brother Randy Herring.  In 2005, he married Julie Dunn, and their union was blessed with one daughter, Jade.  Joshua worked many places, his favorite being for Camren Engineering Company out of Houston, Texas.  This job allowed him to travel overseas to Scotland, Germany, Ireland, and England, accompanied by his family, doing what he loved.

Joshua later decided to go back to school and attended Rice University obtaining a master's degree in Data Analysis. He worked all over the country before finally coming back home to Agra.  Many knew Joshua as a gifted carpenter, working on many homes and projects locally. He loved to hunt, though he was often teased by his family for rarely being successful at it!  Joshua loved the outdoors, especially the mountains of Montana.  He spent many days spelunking with his best friend Nolan Taylor.  During his high school years, he worked on a ranch and became very fond of horses.  Joshua was a very gifted horse trainer and broke many horses.

On May 26, 2022, Josh married Allicia Fowble and though their time together wasn't long enough, it was special and will be forever cherished.

Joshua is preceded in death by his grandparents, Nina and Lendal Burton, and Saundra Bond; as well as one infant niece, Sara Burton.

He is survived by his wife Allicia Bond of the home; daughter, Jade Bond; parents, James and Nila Bond of Tryon; siblings, Richelle Burton of Michigan; JaLisa and husband Levi Wilkinson of Cushing, OK, Jacob and wife Cheyenne Bond of Agra, OK, Jonah and wife Kayla Bond of Lawrence, KS, and Jordan Bond and fiancé Victoria Whitley of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces and nephews, Tinsley, Alex, Jace, Sam, Lewis, Vidalia, Tobin, Joslyn, and Colton; grandfather, Gordon Bond and wife Marcia of Guthrie, OK; as well as many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Parkland Cemetery. Bro. Nolan Taylor and Bro. Joey Wittman will officiate.
