Joy Ellis Butterfield, longtime Cushing resident passed peacefully from this life in the early morning hours on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Joy was a very warm and sincere person, but she sure had an onery streak.  She loved her family and was known as a good cook, often making the best cherry pies around!  She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles.  She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tommy Butterfield; and one brother.

Joy is survived by her children, George (Lynn) Butterfield of California, Bobby (Debbie) Butterfield of Arizona, and Anna Sanches of Ripley, OK; brother, Sam Davis of Cache, OK; sister in laws, Penny Davis of Cache, OK and Jeanie Davis of Cushing, OK; Jessica Tipton, Johnny Sanches, Rebecca Geren, Christine Beasler, Brian Butterfield, Shelly Raymond, George Butterfield Jr., Jimmy Butterfield, Sarah Butterfield, Tommy Butterfield Jr., Thai Butterfield,  grandchildren Samuel, Jaxton, Kelly, Lainey, Caitlynn, Morgan, Victoria, Skylor, Bicelle, Daniel, Hylee, Trevor, Cheyenne, Zarek, Dakota, Zyan, Zayden, Carson, Brayden, Carson, Brayden, Abby, and Bohdi, and numerous other family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate her life at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
