Judith (Judy) Carolyn Harmon, January 17, 1943 – March 21, 2026
Judith (Judy as she liked to be called) was born January 17, 1943, to Harold and Edith Spyres in Tulsa, OK. Judy was one of four, having three siblings. She had 2 brothers, Roger and Dennis, and a sister, Janet. She grew up in Dawson, OK. Growing up Judy attended the Lutheran church where she enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She attended and graduated from Will Rogers High School. After graduation, Judy met and married the love of her life, Bobby Dale Harmon. Bob and Judy were married on Friday the 13th – on April 13, 1962, in Tulsa, OK.
Judy began her working career in insurance and soon after transitioned to Southwestern Bell in Tulsa. She enjoyed watching Bob race cars and watching NASCAR with him, and even after his passing.
Judy and Bob welcomed their only child in 1968, a daughter, Robin Harmon. Soon after, they moved from Tulsa and settled into the small community of Avery, OK. Judy transferred to the SWB Cushing office. She loved her job and eventually retired after 30+ years with SWB.
Judy and Robin were not only mother/daughter but also best friends. They followed Bob all over the state and some southern states to his fishing tournaments and Judy LOVED it. She even taught Robin - at the age of 13 - to drive in a stick shift Dodge pickup at Lake Eufaula. She never missed Robin's ballgames, or the chance to sew a dress for any special occasion. She learned photography and was always taking pictures providing plenty of documentation for everything they did as a family.
In 1991, Robin gave Judy her granddaughter, Krista Scott. Judy took early retirement in 1994 and began babysitting Krista. Just like for Robin, she never missed a single activity Krista embarked on - ball games, gymnastics competitions, you name it - and she volunteered for everything at Krista's schools, even helping run the high school basketball concession when Krista was in high school. If you ever saw Judy, you probably saw Krista in tow.
Judy had many hobbies and was a lover of all things. She specifically enjoyed her photography, stained glass - mostly of butterflies - and tending to her flower beds and plants. She was always busy watering something.
Judy was elated when Krista finally married Eugene and adored the two great grandchildren they gave her, Laine and Laityn.
Judy lost her long battle with Alzheimer's Disease March 21st. Even through it all, she lit up when she saw her family, even though most of the time she didn't know who they were, just that they belonged to her.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Roger and her sister Jan. She is survived by her brother, Dennis, daughter and her partner, Robin and Kevin, granddaughter Krista and her family, Eugene, Laine and Laityn, and brother-in-law Gary, sister-in-law Shirley and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
